Terms of Use
The terms that apply when you access or use SafeCheck.
1. Accepting these terms
By installing, accessing, or using SafeCheck, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Who may use SafeCheck
You must be legally able to agree to these terms in your country. The “child” role is intended for an adult child or family caregiver, not a minor. You are responsible for ensuring that your use complies with applicable laws.
3. What SafeCheck provides
SafeCheck supports family binding, daily safety confirmations, help requests, last-known status, battery information, offline reminders, push notifications, and user-initiated calls through the phone dialer. Features may depend on internet access, device settings, Firebase Cloud Messaging, and backend availability.
4. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information and keep family contact details current.
- Obtain permission before entering or sharing another person’s information.
- Protect binding codes and device access from unauthorized people.
- Use SafeCheck only for lawful, family-safety purposes.
- Verify concerning statuses by contacting the person directly.
- Contact emergency services when urgent help may be required.
5. Prohibited use
You may not use SafeCheck to stalk, harass, deceive, impersonate, secretly monitor, or collect information about another person without appropriate notice and permission. You may not interfere with the service, probe it for unauthorized access, distribute malware, automate abusive traffic, or use another person’s identifiers or binding code without authorization.
6. No emergency or medical service
A missed check-in, stale status, low battery, offline warning, or failed notification does not reliably indicate whether someone is safe. Likewise, a normal status does not guarantee safety. SafeCheck does not diagnose, prevent, monitor, or treat any health condition. Never delay contacting emergency services or a qualified professional because of information shown—or not shown—in SafeCheck.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep SafeCheck useful and reliable, but do not promise uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free service. Notifications may be delayed or lost because of device, network, operating-system, provider, or server conditions. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features and may release updates needed for security or compatibility.
8. Third-party services
SafeCheck relies on third-party platforms such as Android, Google Play, Firebase Cloud Messaging, hosting providers, and your phone carrier or dialer. Their own terms and privacy practices apply to their services, and we are not responsible for third-party outages or conduct.
9. Intellectual property
SafeCheck, its design, software, text, and branding are owned by the developer or used under license. These terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership or permit unauthorized copying, resale, or distribution.
10. Ending use and deleting data
You may stop using SafeCheck at any time. Unbinding removes a family connection but keeps your app identity and settings. “Delete All My Data” requests permanent deletion of associated server and local data. See the Support page for details.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SafeCheck is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, continuous availability, notification delivery, or accuracy. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for losses caused by delayed or missing check-ins, notifications, data, connectivity, third-party services, or unauthorized use. Applicable consumer law may give you rights that override part of this section.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect service, legal, or security changes. The effective date will be revised, and additional notice will be provided when required. Continuing to use SafeCheck after an update means the revised terms apply where permitted by law.
14. Contact
For questions about these terms, visit the SafeCheck Support page or use the verified developer contact shown in the Google Play listing.
